Indomitable Liberals or Obstinate Conservatives?

Who is more vexatious and why?

Why the impasse? Does my recondite lexicon perplex you?

Conservatism: It’s the Right way.

To answer seriously though:

*****y liberals who think everybody should be handed everything in life and not have to actually WORK to get stuff suck. These are the folks who supported a fire department’s decision to hire two black applicants over two white ones who scored higher than the black guys. They’re the folks who think that if you’ve never tried in life, if you’ve smoked crack for 15 years and have five kids out of wedlock with various women, you should still receive the same welfare benefits (even more so since you’ve got five kids because you were too stupid to use a condom) as a single mother of three who got laid off of work because of staff cuts and is having trouble finding a job because of the economy.

The religious extreme right wing also **** me off. They impede any real societal progress under their ideas of a supposedly awesome supreme power.

I’m a moderate with conservative leanings. I think parties are idiotic and a major impediment to ever getting anything done in this country. I bet Josef Stalin could have run under the Democratic ticket and people would still vote for him because he had a “D” next to his name. Likewise with Republicans.

Politics comes back to college life.

don’t confuse liberals with the democratic party

liberals just think that people should have food and shelter it’s a pretty basic philosophy really

the democratic party is 1/3 actual liberals (who are pussies and do nothing about the other 2/3), 1/3 corrupt inner-city paid-off frontmen (who bloat the welfare system and other useless government programs), and 1/3 conservatives who are democrats because their dads were democrats.

I hate when some conservatives say that I’m “giving up” or “accepting defeat” as a combat (do u likez my pun!) to my anti-war views. It’s sooooo annoying.

Or when they say “so you’re throwing up the white flag of surrender!?!”

That really annoys me too…

they are both on other sides of the ideological perspective, but both **** me off the same way.

Supporting anything for the sake of “tradition” is pointless, and if it is a harmful tradition, supporting it is downright stupid. I think conservatives have a tendency not to look past their “morals” and see that they’re actually supporting evil. Their work ethic is also disgusting. Work for the sake of working is a waste. I understand that people need to be doing something, and that conservatism, like religion, is a good way for people in power to pull strings and motivate mindless sheep, but there are probably better solutions.

Conservatives are evil **es who waste their lives worrying about trivial *, while using their influence to impede growth and evolution. That’s a disgusting personality, and I think conservatives would be ashamed of themselves if they could escape the delusional world they live in, which is unlikely since they flock together.

Extremes are equally vexatious. People who don’t think for themselves, or think poorly (as in uncritically/ with errors in logic) are bad no matter what they’re saying.

Surprisingly, I find myself to be tolerant of both sides, considering I’m in the center, but at the moment, I would say liberals.

Why? Because my friends who call themselves liberals are becoming the most annoying thing ever. Or maybe it was all the Obama hype that really got to me.

evolution? ain’t that one of ‘em liberal myths the heathen scientists made up, like global warmin’ and dinosaurs? :P

well I agree mostly with DCHurricane. I really don’t know that much about politics, to be honest. whenver people start babbling about their political views my strategy is usually to nod and smile and add the occasional random point I read in a newspaper or made up on the spot  basically…extremists on either end are annoying.

But what I find really annoying are the super liberal rich kids who think they know everything when they’re so clueless. My college has so many of these spoiled rich kid hipster types who love telling everyone how things work. the rich conservative types don’t bother me as much as the annoying dbag hippie “liberal” kids living off their rich parents (since I haven’t met many conservatives in college). Actually, it’s hard to take people seriously about politics until they’re independent adults and not relying on mom anymore.

Now now Alix, we gotta have SOME people who know everything in the world…

That is exactly why politics are and SHOULD be idealistic until that point.

Democrats want to take away our gun rights and Republicans want to take away our privacy rights. They’re both against us.

One of the Federalist papers warned of the forming of “factions” in Congress. It appears we haven’t heeded his warnings, and now we pay dearly for it.

what bugs me the most is the libertarians saying how everyone should just rely on themselves.

because they aren’t completely independent yet, why should they be saying people should be less dependent on the government when they’re still dependent on their parents

basically i dismiss all libertarian thought unless that person is over 22 but not old enough to be senile

^ ad hominem

But I’m not a libertarian anymore, so I’m not offended :)

the “not old enough to be senile” was a jab at ron paul :)

like, i take my finance club advisor seriously even though he’s libertarian, because he actually does rely on himself. i feel like i can have actual political discussions with him.

but there are some kids in the finance club who live with mom and dad and agree with everything he says about less government assistance and i just can’t talk to them because of the hypocrisy.

if i HAD to choose one, I would say the liberals, especially the rich ones. I just cannot stand being in the same room as them; they just have this odor of smug that is so disgusting and grotesque…

That’s kool, Logic, but I don’t support Ron Paul ;)

I don’t support institutionalized violence, period. :)

attempts to be extremely controversial

I like how everytime people attack liberals they say “Wahhhh people want to get hand outs for nothing wahhhh”

Whatever. One side is just as ignorant and as hypocritical as the other, at least the left wants ensure basic rights for people. You know, that whole making sure kids have food, decent education, health care, etc despite their parent’s income. What’s the latest thing the right has done? Oh yeah, tried to shoot down a bill that would protect rape victims against government contractors.

Not saying the left is always correct either (they’re not by a long shot- take the current health care bill for example), but I chose the one that lets me have control of my own body, control of who I marry, and who can help me when I fall on hard times.
