Industrial and Organizational Psychology?

Hi,
So I’m currently pursuing my BA in Psychology. I’m a freshman and 66% done with this major, I will be completely done by the summer of 2017 (I’m doing summer classes).
My end career goal is to go to graduate school to get my MBA in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology.
I’m considering doing a double major with Business Management.
I thought that might give me an edge getting into graduate school. However, it will make my junior and senior year very packed.
I don’t want to graduate 2 years early. But I also don’t know whether or not the double major is the right idea, or if I should just pick 2 minors and pursue those instead.
Does anyone have any advice?

You can’t get an MBA in industrial/organizational psychology, btw. You can get an MBA (which stands for “master’s of business administration”; sometimes you can concentrate in an area like accounting, finance, marketing, or management, but typically not in I/O) or you can get a master’s in industrial/organizational psychology.

The business management major won’t necessarily give you an edge. You can minor instead, or just take some coursework that’s relevant.

If you want to work in I/O, you have to get a master’s in I/O, not an MBA. I/O is in psychogy departments. You don’t need to double-major in anything to get into an I/O program. But I would recommend making sure you take as many undergrad I/O courses as are offered at your college and helping an I/O professor with a research project. Or doing a capstone senior project in I/O.
