Industrial design at non-art school

I am interested in industrial design but I don’t intend to regard it as my major. Actually I wanna take psychology as my major and takes courses like industrial design, philosophy and economics. Are there any LAC or small universities that are strong in both psychology and industrial design?

I know there is brown and RISD dual program, it really hard for me to get into. And Wash U also has strong programs in psychology and design however some said that the economics department is quite weak (btw it’s also difficult to get in.)
I have search some LAC that I like, I pretty like the schools which have friendly community sense, e.g. say hello when people see you even they don’t know you. I search some LAC like Carleton, Bowdoin, Vassar, they all don’t provide industrial design course.
Could you suggest some schools? Thanks for your reading, and appreciate if you could give me some help.

You’re not going to find both industrial design and psychology at a LAC (or only at very, very few LAC’s). Having multiple schools/departments is pretty much the definition of a university.

You might consider CMU and/or Stanford. Those two probably come the closest to what you are talking about. Some other top rated schools for industrial design that would also offer degrees in psychology might be (in no particular order) RIT, Va Tech, Cincinnati, Syracuse, OSU, UIUC. Not sure how those would fit in with what you are looking for. Most schools that offer industrial design are either large universities or art schools. You also need to keep in mind that ALL design majors entail significant (read that to say “a whole lot of”) time in studios. It is not going to be particularly easy to either major in psychology and study design or vice versa.

RIT would be a good place to look. What sort of stats do you have?

Thanks. Probably I should consider not that specific, how about design course? Are there any LAC are strong in design? I know that vassar, Wesleyan, Oberlin, bard are strong in art.
