Industrial Design

Tell me anything and everything you know, I'm extremely interested because what I've heard it sums up everything I want in my education.
good schools
homework
classes
past experiences
projects
careers
everything

bump? it was like 2 at night when i posted this

Here are two websites that will give you a lot of basic info about industrial design schools and careers:

IDSA - The Industrial Designers Society of America

(IDSA is the professional society for industrial designers. Click on the "About ID" tab and the pull-down screen will give you options like "Careers in ID" and "ID Academic Programs.")

Core77 / design magazine + resource / Design.EDU

(Core77 is a design magazine and this website offers good advice for prospective ID students on choosing a school, portfolio tips, etc. and even includes examples of work produced by students.)

If you're interested in attending an art school, Art Center College (CA) and RISD both have strong ID programs. I have also heard good things about the ID programs at these universities: Carnegie-Mellon, University of Cincinnati, Arizona State, Purdue, Syracuse, and RIT.

To worried_mom's list add Virginia Tech. Have heard good things about their ID department, too. A very impressive ID student gave a talk during a session while we were at orientation. Sharp kid; super representative for that department.

appreciate it

i heard arizona state is really easy to get in though does that mean anything?

You should check out this new site that has a lot of cool information on Industrial Design, called Google: "industrial design" - Google Search

(hint - people likely aren't replying to your post because your post is vague and it looks like you haven't done any research on your own yet; you might get more responses if you asked specific questions ...)

I've done research it's just that there's social aspects of it too that you can't just type keywords and get so easily
