Industrial Engineering Internships

I just finished my freshman year at Penn State. I am pursuing an engineering degree, leaning towards industrial. I finished this first year with a 3.8 and plan to finish next year upward of 3.7. I have 2 years of work experience, working at Little Caesars and working with a local landscaping company. What my chances of landing an internship next summer? Also, what should I be doing now and during this upcoming school year to build my resume?

Some other questions I have

Do the majority of internship programs provide interns with housing?

Should I be looking at larger, more established companies or smaller businesses?

I do plan to talk to career services when I get back on campus, but I would like to stay ahead of the game.

bump

When it comes to internships these days, majority are through networking. And what better way to do that than through your campus internship department.

This is even better because the school will have a history of specific companies and their track record on how successful students found their experiences while interning with that particular company.
Talk to your school and with their massive network, they will help you secure something better than you might be able to do yourself without “SUPER-connections”.

Best of luck to you.
