Hi I am an international student in US

I am graduating this year and I got accepted to UW, Texas A&M, and UI

I am going to study IE

I've visited UW, and I felt that it was too cold. Also, I thought that madison was kinda crowded

but everybody says that UW is a really great school

Since I hate winter and its tuition is cheaper, Texas A&M is attractive even though

its ranking is lower than that of UW and maybe less prestigious than UW

UI has one of the best engineering school in US,

but it is pretty expensive for outta-state students

So, tell me the best pick

For what it’s worth, Texas A&M is actually ranked above both of those schools in Industrial Engineering. Rankings are inherently subjective and have to be taken with a grain of salt, but there is no reason to say Texas A&M is ranked lower unless you are talking about the engineering school as a whole. UIUC is the best overall engineering school of those three but has the “worst” industrial department of them (I used quotes because it is still very good).

Honestly though, they are all going to be great for you, so go wherever you think you will be able to thrive. When you have three good schools to choose from, the best thing is to pick the one that is the most cost effective, makes you feel most at home, and offers you the best chance to do what you want to do. Which one that is is something you will have to figure out on your own.

I did my undergrad at UIUC and loved it, and I am doing my grad work at TAMU right now and it is a pretty cool place as well.

Good luck!

wow it’s very interesting that u went to UIUC, then now u attend TAMU

I think u r right. I considered TAMU cuz of its price and warm weather,

but the outta state tuition has been raised by $4,000, which is absolutely crazy…

and it is only $1000 ~$2000 apart from wisconsin

I know that all of those school are great and I think I will attend wisconsin

thanks :)

I don’t necessarily blame you. Madison is cold in the winter but a really awesome place and Wisconsin is an outstanding school. I think you made the right choice (they were all right choices). ;-)
