Hey guys,
I am a junior in high school and I was wondering what Industrial engineering is all about.
If you could help me differentiate and explain the perks of a degree in IE and MBA, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Lots of info is available on IE (and other engineering majors) on the web. Here’s some examples:

An MBA (Masters in Business Administration) is a terminal degree and a professional degree. You would enter a MBA program after earning a BS/BA (and often after working for several years). It’s not uncommon for IE’s to earn MBA’s, later in their careers. A BS in Business Administration is not required for entrance into a MBA program.
Good Luck!
Thank you very much!
Depends on what fringe area of IE you’ll enjoy. Contrary to popular belief, not all IE’s are plant rats or plant manager rats. With the right courses there’s manufacturing IT (the complex computers that run factories), supply chain management, plant engineering / facility layout, ergonomics, safety, and last but not least, human computer interaction (my area).
My wife did the ‘manufacturing line tour of duty with golf cart’ routine for a while. Now she’s working supply chain management. I help design and program consumer electronics. I know IE’s working in insurance or healthcare companies working to optimize paperwork and worlflows. IE is all over the place in this sense.
