Influential Person/Important event essay

I tried on the essay forum and got no response, so I'm trying here
I'm doing the apply texas app and they force us to do these two essays:

Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.

Choose an issue of importance to you—the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope—and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.

I'm using the Fiske book for essay help- but it doesn't have any examples on these two? Or did I just miss them

Anyways, oo you guys know of tips for this or even better, online/book references where I can examples and help?

Bumperzzzzz

The problem with essay help is that the topics are highly personalized. I don’t know what you have in terms of influential person(s) or events in your life, so I can’t tell you what to write about, nor can these books. There are common topics that you want to avoid, which mainly include writing about sports events, death, etc.

The thing to keep in mind is that they aren’t trying to learn about the person or event which influenced you, they want to learn about you.

Yea I’m trying to find a good example to see how you can make it so you don’t just sound like your praising someone…I wish I didnt have to do applytexas…I would much rather write about anything I want
