Influential person: online friend?

I'm writing my supplemental essay for Harvard and I can only think of one influential person worth writing about - an online friend that I honestly have never met offline. I'm worried about writing this though, since there is some controversy regarding online friends. However, we really are very close friends, even closer than a lot of our offline friends and I know that he's not an online pedophile. : P Should I avoid this topic, or is it okay?

That could be Great if done right.
You can show how in today’s age, with he way technology advances, it allows you to become good friends with people around the world. That could be a very fun essay in the right light
Good luck

ew.
10char.

^^ That reaction is the reason why I made this thread, thanks for the demonstration. : P

i don’t get what 10char means…
either way, write the essay, and if it is creepy, then find a new topic.
I know, stupid advise, but the best way to see if a topic works is to try it.

I’d have to disagree with Rosh. I think that’s an interesting topic, a definite spin that will make your essay all the more memorable. As long as you establish that the relationship is totally.. kosher, I think you could do a really nice job with it.

haha also j73, i think 10char is what people write when their msg doesn’t fill the 10 character minimum for posts

lol, i thought it was some stupid pedo joke.

I’m kind of curious as to how the essay will turn out.
You can send it to me for editing if you want.

If this topic allows you to be personal, detailed, honest and revealing about yourself, then it can be a good topic for you.
