Any comments regarding quality of life issues
for Echols scholars would be appreciated.
In fact, anything about Echols Honors Program
would be of much interest.

Thanks --

the echols scholars program isn't an honors program - at least in the traditional sense. basicly you're relinquished from all area requirements and you get priority registration. other than that there might be some special events you get to go to, but nothing of note that i can think of. youre not in a special school or special classes being in the echols program.

the honors programs at UVa are within each individual department and you have to apply for them once you're in school.

You get priority registration and the opportunity to live with other Echols scholars as a first year (which can be a good thing and a bad thing). Also, you have no distribution requirements, so if you're particularly interested in a specific field (and, perhaps, complementary fields) you can have four years to build a truly impressive transcript (perhaps for graduate school).

If you have any specific questions, I can answer them.
