Info about math placement tests?

How do you go about taking one for UW?

Do you make an appointment?

Can you go there and take it on the spot?

When's the best time to take it?

You have to register here:
Academic Placement Testing Program - Testing Center - Services - Office of Educational Assessment

However, you can also take one as a walk-in. The walk-in charge is $25/test
If you register on-line, the charge is $15/test.

Take it whenever you feel you are ready

I saw the website, and since i took ap calc AB already and got a 5, does that mean that i don't have to take the math placement test?

thanks

If you have already taken The AP Calc AB test, and since you received a score of 5, you do not have to take the placement test and "you will receive credit for the 1st and 2nd quarters of calculus, and you may go directly to the 3rd quarter of calculus."

ureshi thanks. i know my next question prob sounds stupid... s/he said that i "do not have to" take the test, but anyone know should I? anyone w/ experience?

I'm a bit confused about the walk-in process. My friend tells me that if you do a walk-in, no prior sign-up online is required, though the charge is $25. He says that you can get your scores immediately following the test if you do a walk-in. Is that true?

Also, are there other dates besides the June 28 at UW I can register for? Will there be dates in July that will make the test available?
