Info on Intro Art Classes?

I'm in Stern but interested in pursuing a minor in studio art from Steinhardt.

Any recommendations for art courses/professors?

I'm specifically looking for a course to meet the Media requirement, either: Photography, Digital Art, or Video Art. To anyone who has taken any of them, what are these courses like and how's the grading? What types of prior knowledge do you need (i.e. prior experience with photography/developing, or specific computer programs)? I have no experience whatsoever with anything digital/media-related.

Also, how much work outside of class is required? For example, I'm taking ceramics right now, and while it's really fun, there's so much work to be done outside of class if you want to do well.

To minor in Studio Art, you will need to take intro to drawing and sculpture--those are the requirements. From there you can choose an additional 2 media classes to fulfill the 16 credit requirement. As far as the non-art major art classes go, I hear they're really easy, mainly because the professors know that many of them are taking these classes for filler credits and therefore do not want to hurt your GPA.

Thanks. Bump.
