info on my (possible) college picks plz!

My interests right now are:
whitman, middlebury (for language), lewis and clark, university of puget sound, haverford, UCs (CA native), st johns in santa fe.
those probably seem random but they all appeal for different reasons. i want to know anything you can tell me about the social life at the LACs and the academics at L&C and UPS. Also if you could give me an idea of if i can get in, that would be fantastic.
my stats:
3.54 GPA (weighted)
SAT: M 700 W 760 CR 800 (2260)
SAT 2: US History 790 Literature 740 (i think)
work about 15 hr/wk since sophmore year, 30hr/wk in summer, have 2 jobs
not many extracurriculars: 2 varsity sports, youth & gov't
honors classes, AP US last year (5 on test), 3 APs this year.

I know that midd, haverford would be reaches.
Thanks for any help you can give!!

Likely to be admitted to Whitman, Lewis & Clark, UPS, and St. John's, while Middlebury and Haverford are the most difficult to get into.

The LACs, in general, have higher participation rates in ECs, and a closer-knit community because the majority of students live on campus.

Lewis & Clark is a liberal, laid back college in a safe, liberal city.

UPS is middle of the road politically, near Tacoma--an okay city.

Whitman is liberal and in a small rural town--not much going on, although students tend to be very involved.

Middlebury is liberal, but preppy, in a town of about 8,000. Picturesque scenery, and good looking students. Great for Languages and the humanities, although the other majors are also good.

Haverford is liberal but on the small side (although if you count Bryn Mawr students a mile or so down the road) it gets better. Very egalitarian, and close to Philly, so you do have South street and various historic sites as distraction. Feels cloister in a different way than either Whitman or Middlebury.

Hope you can use this info.

Whitman is in Walla Walla - not a lot going on (except the onions; Whitman actually sends you a box of onions if you are going to attend their school). However, its really sunny, very nice weather, like your native state of California.

Tacoma is more rainy and more urban. its a very decent city, pretty close to Seattle. i am also applying to UPS.

good luck!

thanks for the info!
what are academics like at L&C and UPS? i don't quite know what their reputation is. are the classes lecture-based or discussion? are students intellectually focused?
