I am sorry to say that I cannot answer any of the specific Paceaudition questions, but I have stayed at the Best Western Seaport Inn when at Strawhats at Pace… It is very nice, and walking distance – http://www.seaportinn.com/
Also if you go to http://www.pace.edu/parents-and-families/nearby-hotels and look at the hotels near Pace NYC, there is a list of recommended hotels.
All of the Pace buildings are in the downtown Manhattan area of 1 Pace Plaza and the performing arts building is 140 William Street. That’s where the auditions have been the last few years and I expect are. My son thought all the auditors were very nice, they asked about your experience, interests and stuff from your resume. They were given brief scenes and scene partners at the beginning so there is some time to look it all over and meet/prepare. It was a long day as I recall. Wear or bring comfortable close you can properly move in.
My experience is with the BA IPEnprogram so I can answer that:
I am assuming you are referring to the BA acting and not the BA directing, although they are both a part of the international performance ensemble.
Basically, when you go in to do your monologues, be very very ready to make adjustments you are given (and the best advice I can give you is to really commit to those adjustments). The adjustments may seem crazy but have fun with it, they know what they are doing. The movement callback is pretty standard, be ready and willing to “do” and wear something that allows movement. If you have other questions about the BA audition message me!
Worst audition ever lol! I forgot my lines and did the dreadful “can I start over” AND he didn’t ask me to do my monologues differently-- the audition was a good four minutes. Going back at 1:30 for the BFA.
So sorry @40yearoldvirgin, but as we’ve been saying, you can do theater at many different kinds of college, as well as outside college. You’re not done yet!
