Ithaca is one of my top school choices. I have a 3.4unweighted GPA and 1880SAT, 6Ap's, 2 Syracuse courses, have interned at my local paper, interested in journalism. Can anyone give me insight in how generous Ithaca has been with financial aid/scholarships?

It depends. I recommend applying for the Park Scholar Award. It is a full ride scholarship for communications students. Applications are due in january, go to www.ithaca.edu/parkscholar. It is very competitive to get, so other than that Ithaca is pretty generous with scholarships. You’ll probably get about $10,000 in merit and then idk about financial aid…

Ithaca is also one of my top choices and i received $10,000 a year from merit. I’m still waiting to hear back from the Leadership Scholarship and Park Scholar Award but with your stats i’m sure you will receive a similar merit scholarship.

Well Ithaca was the first school that I got an acceptance to, but unfortunately no merit scholarship. Admissions said the Park School is very competitive, and first offers merit awards to the top 10% of applicants. I applied for the Leadership scholarship, but without merit money, this could be a big disappointment.

Yeah that’s too bad. They give out the Leadership Scholarship to up to 60 people and it’s a $7,000 scholarship so there is the chance you will receive that. Also as a last resort you can always write a letter explaining your interest in Ithaca and your need for more money to attend their college. The worst thing they can do is deny you and there is always a chance you will be granted some money. Good Luck on the Leadership Scholarship.
