I'm finding it very hard to find out much about UArts except, of course, on their website. When they used to be called Philadelphia College of Art (pre-1985), they had an excellent reputation. Any opinions?

I would like to have this information, too!!!!

My S went to their summer program between his sophomore and junior years in high school--about four years ago. They offered many programs, and he liked his teachers in drawing, ceramics, and sculpture (although he didn't like the Art History lectures.) He also liked the location, which is in downtown Philadelphia near some interesting restaurants and theaters. We thought the classrooms were nice, if a bit old--and the dorm he lived in was (I think) a converted office building with very large rooms and very minimal furniture. We also were quite impressed with some of the student work, which was displayed on the last day of the program along with an "artist's reception." Ultimately, he decided not to apply there, though. I'd suggest considering the summer program (they even offer scholarships!) if your child is interested in the school.
