Hi Everyone, my first post, so please bear with me. Looking at schools in Florida for my son. 3.1 unweighted, 3.6 weighted. ACT 25, SAT 1060/560 writing. He likes UNF because of it's size. I have not heard anything about this school. We live about 4 hours away, Is it a glorified community college? I say this because I get the impression a majority of the students are from the Jax area. Is the campus deserted on weekends? Quality of education? He also applied to UCF, FAU, FSU and USF. Any info good or bad is greatly appreciated.

I’m a little upset with UNF right now; they sent me an email Oct. 15 that their computer system had been hacked and the personal records of over 100,000 people had been compromised. I had applied to UNF for admission 3 years ago and UNF said my name and social security number was exposed to unauthorized creeps; now I have to notify credit bureaus and do all sorts of other stuff. Here’s a bulletin about the computer breach from UNF’s website: [University of North Florida](http://www.unf.edu/info/databreach/)

Yeah, I saw that posted on the UNF website lizard. Luckily I didn’t get an email saying my info was exposed.

lbjjbl, have you toured the campus? My sister lives in Jacksonville and we went and took a tour (I’m hoping to get in this year).

It’s a really nice school. I would say beautiful, but I’m a guy and that’s frowned upon. It’s actually built in the middle of a nature reserve and there is all sorts of nature around. One of the dorm buildings has a lazy river in the pool. It looks more like a resort than a school, much less a community college.

I’m going to be finding out my admissions decision on November 1st (they are coming to Tampa for an info meeting and offering to give admissions decisions early) and even typing this I’m remembering how much I liked it and I think it’s my top choice right now.
