Info Session and Tour schedule?

Does anyone know the typical info session/tour schedule during the fall school session?

We’re trying to plan a visit around a competition at MIT (flights, hotel, etc) but the schedule on the web site only goes out though August. It would be on a Saturday in October.

Any idea how far in advance registration opens? It looks like it’s required, and currently shows full for the next month.

My daughter led admission tours last year; according to her information sessions start at 9:30 Monday through Saturday in the fall, with tours leaving at 10:30.

Belated thanks - that is when they start, we attended this week.

Fwiw - very unimpressive. Slides didn’t work, presenter sat in a chair and read from notes. Not much that couldn’t be found on the web site. Many “that’s a good question, I don’t know” answers to audience questions. They got the video working in time for a handful of “OMG, I’m at Harvard!”, “I’m so proud my kid is at Harvard!”. I guess they figure, and maybe correctly, they can get by on reputation.

Tour guide had an acting minor, iirc, and was focused more on entertaining than informing.

It’s early, but my D didn’t seem inclined to keep it on her list.

I would agree that Harvard admissions info session and tours are poorly put together; they are more for tourists than for applicants and their families. There is nothing new or interesting that you cannot learn online or during your own visit.

Another problem is that Harvard students don’t seem to wear much school pride on their sleeves. Unlike at other schools you won’t hear people saying “oh my gosh, this place is better than Harvard…”

I’ve been to 2 tours/info sessions with my kids that are 2 years apart, and my experience was completely different than what is descibed here. Both of our visits happened during April 2017 and 2019.
