Over the break I saw an opportunity to intern with the local Cystic Fibrosis organization in their Public Relations department. I emailed the guy in charge and sent him my resume and he replied and told me he would be interested in meeting me. We set up a day for me to go to their office. In our email correspondence he just says that he's looking forward to meeting me and didn't really say much about any formal interview. What should I expect? Of course I am going to show up prepared for anything he throws at me but I am unsure if I am going to be interviewed or we're just going to talk about interning. Any ideas?

That sounds like an interview offer to me. Dress professionally, bring three resumes and prepare to both ask and answer questions!

I agree with chrisw. And talking about interning = interview. Regardless of what you want to call it, you will be talking to someone that wants to discuss an open position with you.

perhaps it will not be in a super formal setting, with a panel of people behind a table and you on the other side, but rest assured he will be seeing if you are the right fit for the position.

bring a few resumes (one for yourself, one for the guy you have been talking to, and a couple more incase anyone else happens to sit in on your discussion/interview), do some research on the organization, and some basic research on cystic fibrosis.

bring some questions… what have previous interns worked on? etc
