Informal Poll: Drinking

1 never had it... it tastes so bitter! why would you drink that?
I'd rather drink a cup of apple juice

The more you drink the better it starts tasting. And some beers taste better than others to begin with.

I despise the people who stereotype all drinkers in HS as dropkicks and football players. Its wierd but a lot of naturally clever people drink compared to hard workers. Maybe because the hard workers aren't blessed with the intelligence and need to work harder and thus give up a dimension of high school (yes trying and experimenting alchohol is a phase in HS) and resent the naturally intelligent people who feel this wierd urge to prove they are 'normal'.

So you're saying that people who drink have a "natural" intelligence and cleverness?

It makes perfect sense now! You're a genius!

No, you have his/her logic mixed up. He or she never said that people are clever or intelligent for drinking. All he suggested was that you don't have to be stupid to drink.

In my opinion, it's all about priorities. I am personally of the point of view that the point of life is to feel personally fulfilled (as in, not in others' eyes). For me, that fulfillment involves enjoying life as much as possible while maintaining an appropriate balance with academics. For others, fulfillment can be reached through excelling in school, and not necessarily enjoying themselves as much as the others. Some are only fulfilled based on how others view them.

In the end, what I'm really trying to say is: Do whatever floats your boat. Care about what you want to and don't let anybody chastise you for your allocation of your own time in your personal journey of life.

Will probably become at least a 3 or 4 in college since that parental supervision will be lifted. My parents are pretty strict in that regard, and drinking just isn't that big of a deal to me that I would break those rules and get grounded for a month just so I could drink on one night. I'm more social when I'm not grounded, so yeah... in my case drinking would probably lead to worse social life due to punishment.

I personally don't have much against light social drinking, as long as my judgement isn't too impaired and I still have my priorities straight.
