A friend of mine got in trouble with housing. She damaged her roommate’s personal property. Does anyone know as to how long the entire process is for an informal resolution. She received an email from Academic Standards office. Can someone explain the process and the length of it from start to finish. She is extremely nervous that she will get expelled.

You should tell your friend to make an account and start her own thread. If it was an accident, why doesn’t she just replace the item? If she did it on purpose, she should read up on the procedures, timelines, and possible consequences of student misconduct. They’re probably laid out in the student handbook.
