Congrats, cmoon.

Trust me, by the end of orientation, you and he will have forgotten the massive stress of the past 6+ weeks.

And yes, parents should definitely attend orientation. It is not-to-be-missed.

blue…does this happen in waves. will more letters go out 5/20 or do they call to invite you off of the wl as well???

Congrats collegehopes and cmoon…would you mind explaining what happened to your agora? Also what region/state do you live in? Just curious to see if they send them out by region.

every year could be different, marbles. Colleges fill the class as slots become available. If the recents folks have until May 20 to respond, then you could expect additional decisions to occur the following week – assuming turn downs.

A lot depends on the regional rep on how folks are notified. In past years, some reps have called with the news, while others just used snail mail.

I got accepted to CAS, also pre-med. (I am not sure about pre-med but I did put pre-med for special program? on common app) Also, I am from Maryland. I also saw someone else from my school got off the wait-list on the same day as I did.

@Sittnwaitnwishn, what about agora?

We are in MA, only about 15 miles from BC. The notification was through snail mail and was dated May 9th. Our public school is consistently ranked one of the top in the state. As far as my son could tell all of the students accepted prior to the waitlist, decided to go elsewhere. We can’t tell if that made a difference, but typically there have been at least a few students each year attending BC. Hope this helps and best of luck to everyone else! In the end there are a lot of great schools out there and I’m sure everyone will be more than fine in the school they end up choosing!

I hope I get! I’ll probably be the last to know… (west coast)

Thanks for responding, hopefully there is still some hope for the rest of us! On tues our bc rep called my guidance couns.saying bc was on to “our region of the waitlist” (wonder what that means) and were wondering which of us students waitlisted at our school would def still go if accepted. That’s why I was wondering if they do the waitlist by regions…but I wouldn’t classify ma and md in the same region hmm…

And collegehopes, I was jw if you noticed any sort of change in your agora before you got the acceptance letter? In the past ppl seemed to have noticed “extra tabs” on their account

I hate to feed information that may be worthless, but again I know it’s an anxious time. My son’s GC, like yours, got a call last week asking if he would definitely accept and he ended up receiving the letter on the following Tuesday, and was dated on Monday.

I don’t know at all if that is the norm or not, so please don’t despair if you don’t hear next week.

My agora portal changed but no new tabs were added? When I click on applicant status which usually showed me all the materials I had sent in there are just three links now saying Pay your deposit, withdraw admission, and defer admission. What does this mean? I have yet to receive anything in the mail but another girl from my school that was on the wait list got in within the last couple of days? Help!!-hope everyone is hanging in there.

they changed the website for agora recently, but I think this means you got in!
congratulations! you should be getting the letter soon…

@elizsteven, the same thing happened on my agora! does this mean were in?? I haven’t gotten any letter yet…

Got into nyu off the waitlist. I am going to think over whether I want to wait for BC tonight. If I can make a decision, I will withdraw from my spot on the BC waitlist.

my agora has that change too…not sure if it means anything, but i sure hope it does!

is everyone’s agora like this since they changed them?

i really hope it means something but won’t be satisfied until there is a letter in the mail!! i was wondering the same thing maybe everyone got this change. i hate waiting!!–Good luck to everyone!

I have no change on my agora portal and no letter in the mail…did I not get in…?

are you sure? the change is in the applicant status link page, not the initial page it shows you. i kinda just think this is a standard thing that everyone has now, but who knowsss

omg i have the option to pay for my enrollment/housing under the application status…does this mean i got in?? or does everyone have this change…?
