Information needed on Dominican U. of Calif.

Hi Parents! What an exciting and stressful time of year for our kids and parents!

Our S2 got a call last night from the head coach at Dominican U. of Calif. making him an offer and wants him to commit soon. We had a short visit there and really liked the campus and the boys on the team were really well connected and fun to be around. Liked the coaches too.
Great location for us since it's just an hour plane ride and we have family close by. They guarantee a 4 year graduation and have a 5 year MBA program and are close to the city of San Francisco and have a lot of internship connections.
I can't find any info. on CC about Dominican and I wasn't very happy with our day there because the athletic dept. set up the visit so things were a little disorganized and expectations out of line. May go back for a couple of days and spend more time in the classes and see what the day to day life is outside of just soccer and coordinate this time through admissions.
I hear lots of conflicting stories about Dominican because I think it is one of those schools you love or hate.
Any constructive help would be appreciated and I love and appreciate the resources with all of you.

Nada amigos???

You have to spend time at the school.

It’s in a gorgeous area. Dominican has a very small student body. The school is going to appeal to some people and others are going to say they want a bigger place.

As I recall from a visit a year and a half ago: Beautiful location. Old dorms. Deer on campus in a beautiful community. Most rooms we saw were triples. For some reason, I got the impression that nursing is their strongest major.

Daughter was ready to leave the tour when the guides comment about a large group of summer foreign exchange students was: “Don’t worry, we don’t have many exchange students during the school year.”

That said, everyone we met was very nice.
I’d definitely want to sit in on some classes, if I was your son. Also, check on actual transportation logistics to San Francisco if he doesn’t have a car and is planning to do internships in the city.
