<p>Sure. But note that they are saying that you should submit three possible D-plans, and that only one of them must include a fall term off. They then say that most students get their first choice plan, but that those whose first choice plan doesn’t include a term off MAY get their second or third choice instead. </p>
<p>This is far from a policy that states that they will not house you four fall terms. I’m sure that someone whose first choice plan had them “on” all fall terms for some specific reason, such as a class schedule, would get that plan.</p>
<p>There are several other residence rules that they say are “required” which are bent all of the time if there is a reason. For example, sophomores doing the Russian FSA, which only takes place in the summer, don’t have to be on campus for Sophomore Summer. (Although it seems a shame to miss it, since most kids seem to love it.) And I can tell you from personal experience that kids can change their D plans if something comes up. </p>
<p>Things are just not that draconian.</p>
