I was wondering if anyone is a student or is directly connected to a student at Rose. I was accepted but don't know much about the school. I would like to learn more as it seems like it might be a place I want to go to.

Hey, Cyprus. I'm a freshman EE major at Rose, and I'd be glad to answer any questions you have. You can PM me, post in the thread, or contact me via AIM (y2kwizardmus).

There's also a PHPBB board at the Rose-Hulman web site that's meant to give students information about life at Rose. It can be found at http://www.rose-hulman.edu/admissions/forum/index.php .

Good luck with your decision!

awesome. One big question I have is how strong is the physics major (not the engeneering physics but strait physics). How dificult is it and since I get the impression it is a small major are all the classes still affered or is the number of classes compromised. Thank you

That's a great question, and unfortunately I'm not really qualified to answer it. I'm a EE, and so I don't know much about the physics program. I know that we've got a lot of great physics resources, like an observatory on campus, some nice labs for various physics necessities, and a library that will certainly have whatever physics reference you need!

In terms of courseload, I don't really know in which courses we differ from other schools. I doubt that the fact that the major is small will keep us from offering any given course, but, again, I'm not a physics major. The people on that admissions board could probably tell you better than I. From the physics course site, "Course topics included in the curriculum are many particle physics, physical optics, biophysics, biomedical optics, theoretical mechanics, electromagnetism, celestial mechanics, acoustics, micro sensors, semiconductor materials and devices, x-rays and crystalline materials, electro-optics, and laser physics," which seems relatively comprehensive to me. Again...I'd check with someone in the physics department or on the admissions board to get details.

thank you very much I will ask around more.
