Hopefully this helps give some people a little more insight on the University!

Warning, warning, warning.... major propaganda trap ahead :D Nobody, and I mean nobody, should pay much attention to the PR videos released by colleges. It is easy to learn what is right about each school, but it is equally important to understand what the gotchas are. Can you expect to learn anything that is not right about the school from a promotional video? These case studies are about the outliers, not about the average student. Absolutely every school on the USNWR list can produce one of them, and as such they are, IMO, close to worthless as a source of information.

Thanks for pointing that out, GroovyGreek. But if that's completely true, aren't promotional videos the same as promotional books / catalogues, information sessions, etc? I just thought it might be a good resource.

To everyone though, I suppose take them "cum grano salis".

Cum grano salis MAGNA... pardon my limited Latin skills if the "magna" is misplaced. Yes, promotional literature can be useful in learning about the basics --- the school has a library, a quad, a green lawn where students like to hang out, and examples of wonderful self-motivated students who will do great things in life whether they attend the particular school in question or any other school. They are often not as good about the important details, that require reading the fine print, or getting another brochure altogether.

Don't mean to imply that this is not useful information for the type of opportunities available, just be aware that these are not the opportunities that everyone gets.
