I'm dropping one of my courses on Monday. How do I inform the colleges I've applied to? For example:

Cornell - asks for midterm report, not sure if they will notice the disparity between my mailed transcript and the midterm report
UT - requires 30 credits to transfer, and with the dropped course I would have 28; I'm taking three courses in the summer which bring it up to 37 credits total, but I don't know how to contact them about that
Chicago - already filled out a "course descriptions" paper and mailed it

On a similar note, I wanted to ask if you should even tell the college why you did drop. I mean colleges believe you could dropped a course for w.e reason not only bc of a low grade.

So basically I have two Dropped courses, one was for a bad grade one due to work related issues.... So should I tell them that one was for work related and give away the other was due to a bad grade, or keep my mouth shut????

bump
i need input on this too
could they rescind you when they find out that you dropped a course that you listed under your current course selection?

itsover: UT, you'd need to notify, since otherwise you would be a first-year applicant.

max: no, they won't, unless it is like the UT situation above (where it does make a difference). If that is not the case, the schools generally will not punish you by taking away an admit.

What if you drop a class before you even send your second semester course descriptions (as in you're applying to a school that accepts applications unitl late spring). Do you have to list the class you dropped as one of them?

Do mid term grades appear on your transcript?
