Infromation on TTU-HSC and pre-med?

Hi all,

Texas Tech offers an early acceptance program into their medical school after 2 years of being in honors college, which really interests me because of its similarity to bs/md programs. If anyone could inform me about the difficulty of getting into this program, how many people get in, how difficult it is to meet the requirements, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m wondering if it’s be worth going to TTU for the slim chance of getting into this program.

Also, I haven’t heard much about the opportunities for pre-med students at TTU. How are the research, volunteer, or shadowing opportunities out in Lubbock?

I’m also looking at UT Austin, Rice, and UT Dallas for pre-med.

Thanks

I would assume if you are in the Honors College & you do well in the entrance exam & whatever other requirements you should be fine. The Honors College students have top priority at Tech.

I just spoke to a representative from TTU. For anyone wondering, they have about a 95% acceptance rate to the early acceptance into medical school program.

@Turtshell I also heard from a representative that they accept around 12 people. Is that really 95%?
