initial SAT for Duke Tip

If a middle schooler takes the SAT test for Duke Tip purposes, how does that affect later reporting. Not taking test for college purposes just for Duke Placement. Worried the scores (if low) might be visible later when we get to high school college applications. Do they scrap this initial SAT testing?

Stop worrying about all that and get off the site. The test wont be visible. Go enjoy your life and dont come back until your a junior.

Let’s try a more helpful response…this may be late, but perhaps it will help someone.

SAT does not retain the Duke TIP scores, ACT does. Old tests do not matter for college. Normally it is your best test or ‘super score’ where they take the best score in each section.

The purpose of the TIP program is to test where you are at, not see how good of a score you can get by ‘prepping’. Relax, take the test, do your best. Nothing to lose.

I have had 3 kids go through the testing (one is still a couple of years too young) and they all did well with no prep. Taking the tests helps get familiar with the process and reduced stress for my two that have taken the ‘real’ ACT. (same test and testing process…it is just that they take the ones that count toward their college admission as Juniors)

The gist of the earlier reply is correct. Go enjoy your life.
