Innovation Academy versus University State of Florida

Hello guys! I need your help and advise. My son just got the confirmation being admitted in IA in UF. It was a surprise because, we realized the differences on schedule of this program than regular students in UF. Now, he was also accepted in the USF. How can we take the better decision between both alternatives?

You had to select IA in the application to be considered! :)

First, do your research on the IA program. It offers a limited set of majors, so your Son would need to select one. Check the list of available majors (see the link below). If he wants to select a different major, then the IA program is not for him.

Go to the UF board (here on CC) and ask about the program. Some current IA students can share their thoughts on the program. You will find some advantages to having the Fall Term available (such as less competition for internships, etc.). Some folks stay in town for the fall term, and take on-line courses. They still can participate on any campus activities (such as clubs, going to games, etc.).

USF (University of South Florida) is a fine school. If the IA program is not for him, then he has a great school to fall back on.

Good Luck!

Thank you very much !
