I have a question about copying and pasting my two main essays into the space provided on the Quest bridge online application. I have finally narrowed it down to 800 words exact for one of my essays and when I hit the space bar to see if it would all fit (and it should since it was exactly 800 words according to microsoft word) it automatically deleted words from my last sentence. I don't understand why this happened since I had exactly 800 words. I went back and checked with just my intro paragraph and it seems like it counted 95 words for what should have been only 92.
Has anyone else had difficulties with this??

<p>yes it is contractions. it is counting them as two words. to fix this, after you paste in your essay, delete any contractions and retype them in the box. You are just deleting the word, e.g. don’t and retyping don’t. When you do this, the word count will be correct. I don’t know why the form does this but it’s an easy fix.</p>

<p>You’re so welcome! Idk why QB doesn’t make this information available to applicants - so many panicked kids are cutting their essays unnecessarily at the last minute because they don’t know about the contraction thing…GL with the NCM!</p>
