Hello guys,

just an FYI...
I am not like the rest of the people on the board, they all seem extremely smart, im more of your average sub-par peon.

here are my stats:

GPA: 3.96 weighted
SAT: 680M, 590V, 530W (all the other times ive taken it, the scores have been worse. :()
Clubs: NHS, Mu Alpha Theta, Beta Club, some other smaller clubs...
Other: volunteer work w/ church, homeless shelter

Ive been taking honors/AP classes ever since soph. year in high school. I am currently a high school senior. Honestly, I think the SAT's are overrated, but that will be a debate for another day.

Right now I want to see what my chances are at getting into GA Tech. I know other people that are apply that have not taken an honors math their whole high school career, but they have 1500's on their SAT's. Would that put them at an advantage over me?

Im currently taking AP calc AB/BC, and i would say my curriculum is pretty rigorous. I havent taken many electives, went through french 8 (after AP). the only on level class i was forced to take was US history because of a scheduling conflict.

if i dont go to tech, i dont know where else i would go in GA. there are no other schools im interested in.

any input would be appreciated, thanks.

please! someone help. should i save my money?

you'll get in if your in state
probable reject OOS

im in state :P whew

am i too stupid to get any replies?

it looks pretty tough to decide, really on the fence.

you have to raise that sat score, at least to 1300 m v ish

my brother got into GA Tech with a 670 M and 640 V as an out-of-state student. everyone told him that it was a lost cause for him to apply to a school like GA Tech, but he did. He did really well on his essay and they admitted him.

The moral of the story is just apply!! a million ppl will say this, but your chances are zero if u do not apply. just go for it. write a good essay, something creative, fun, or touching. just spill something out of your heart.

you have a chance, it is guaranteed that there is some chance. I know that maybe i am not the one to tell you this since i am admitted to the ga tech class of 2010, but go for it, that's all i can say. good luck.

i have a feeling you will get in. your math score is OK for an in state, your gpa is great for ga tech...what is there to worry about? i am scared *****less wondering if i got into any other colleges, but there is always a college that will take you.

btw, if you are a girl...your chances are WAY up there!!!

bye,
