Lehigh is high on my son's list (top 3). we visited, and came away with a very good impression overall. I would like to help S in his final decision (he may decide to apply ED: everything is ready for the common app "submit" button for a couple of schools on his list). The decision is his, but as a paying member of this equation, I do play an advisory role.

I would appreciate it very much if you share your thoughts. I may present some negative stereotypes, but bear with me. I would like to know whether this is some truth or whether they are grossly exaggerated.

quality of academic experience in fields other than business and engineering.

attention and support from the faculty/administration to individual students.

yes, the drinking problem. There is a prevailing view that Lehigh has a major problem in this area.

Is there campus life for those not going Greek?

student body: there is a stereotype of Lehigh students being rich, white, shallow, conservative and entitled kids. I know this is a gross exaggeration and awfully unfair description. Yet, in every stereotype, there is a grain of truth at the bottom of the "myth". I would like to hear your thoughts on this.

Please understand that I am not trying to "dis" Lehigh. You can say, if anything, I would like to be persuaded in its favor - it seems like a terrific school and I hope the negatives my son heard are not based on recent reality.
