For Math 1A during Fall the professors who will be teaching the class are:
Hutchings
Agol
Harrington

For Math 1B:
Reshetikhin
Persson

Could I please get some input on these professors?

I had Harrington for 16B- easiest A ever.

you can go to courserank and look up grade distributions.

Looking over CourseRank (for 1B), Persson has a more favorable ratings distribution, as well as several reviews professing him a good lecturer, but his midterms sound like a b****. Reshetikhin has a normally distributed ratings distribution, but a grading distribution skewed heavily to the right. He has one review saying he’s a poor lecturer. I’d love anyone else’s input, but as of now, I’m going with Reshetikhin.

Go for Reshetikhin. He’s pretty good. And make sure you go through the practice exams before midterms and finals. I can’t emphasize this enough. That’s the secret to doing well on his tests. Its heavily based on the formal of his past exams.

lol I guess you have 2 accounts then?

Persson is a good lecturer (for what that’s worth) but people tend to do worse on his exams. This gives you a chance to score well-above the curve (easier said than done)

I had Reshetikhin for 1B and it was whatever. He’s an ok lecturer and his midterms had some tricky true/false and definitions questions but it wasn’t terrible. I remember doing Persson’s midterms and final for practice and they were HARD. If you think you’re more talented at math than most, go for Persson cause beating the curve by a little probably gets you far.
