I'm trying hard to be patient.

I just recently applied to transfer into the Spring Semester at A&M. I just graduated this past May, and took summer classes and also had some dual credit hours from English and Speech. I have the minimum 24 hours (all transferable) and a 4.0 GPA. I'm trying to get into the College of Liberal Arts for psychology. It'll be for a BS.

My dad died in January, so it was a tough senior year. So finding out I didn't get into A&M last year was even harder on me, but made me determined get in. Hence, starting summer classes a week after I graduated. I made sure to make that clear in my essays. I also have a recommendation letter from someone we know who's donated a bunch for A&M, and went there a long time ago. If that helps at all.

Does it seem like I have pretty high chances of getting in? And when do transfer students typically find out? Since I know they're having to deal with freshman applications too...

Oh, and it says on my AIS that my application’s been processed. Just chilling on the horrible step 3 for now.

you not only have to have 24 credit hours to transfer - you have to have the ‘right’ 24 hours. Have you checked the degree track for transfrerring into the college of Liberal Arts?
[Degree Tracks](http://admissions.tamu.edu/transfer/gettingin/degreeTracks/default.aspx)

Yes, I’ve checked that. I hope they are all ‘right’. I’ve taken:
English 1301, 1302, 2322, 2323
Speech 1315
Psychology 2301
History 1301
Music 1306
24 Hours

Class I’ll be taking this fall:
Biology 1406
English 2311 -Technical Writing
German 1411 -As an elective
History 1302
Math 1324 -Business Math
17hours

So, I’ll have a total of 41 hours after my first semester of college. And I’ll be considered a sophomore already. Maybe that’ll look good too?

Keep after it. I’ve known several people who have transferred. Some of them got notified very late in the process. Others had to reapply, but in all cases they eventually got in.

Thanks! Only problem, my mom will only allow me to apply once.

And I checked, I’m almost certain all my classes are “right.”

winypooh519 - you look like a good candidate for the college of Liberal Arts. Hopefully you will hear soon.
Do not get discouraged. They may wait to see your grades for this semester. My daughters bf was transfer candidate for fall 2010. he was admitted, but they did wait for his spring grades. he didn’t find out until july. it was rough.
But I do think you have this… Gig’em :)

You should be in, but you never know. A&M takes a while to process application stuff.

Thanks guys! I’m feeling alright about it since I’ve got a 4.0, even though I have the minimum hours. The people at A&M said I can’t do any better than that, but of course, you never know what the psychology department will decide. And I found out that they had already sent my stuff to the department (which surprised the admissions lady I spoke to), and that they might let some people know before late October and November. Hopefully I’ll be one. I’ve done all I can, so I should just relax and focus my classes for the fall, right? :)

Klparker312: Thanks! Were his statistics about the same as mine? And do you possibly know anything about the Liberal Arts department?

my daughters bf was going into Animal Science and he did have 24 hours when he applied and they waited for his spring grades, which came to a total of 39 credit hours. He was not a 4.0, like a 3.75 from a State University within the A&M system.
You cant do any better than you have done - 4.0 is as good as it gets. Congratulations.
I think you will be an Aggie. relax and focus on the fall…

Thanks for the help! And will do. No point of messing things up now.
