Here lies the dilemma. The entire point of INROADS is to place you with a great company, hopefully your company of choice. But if you had a great experience with Kraft, a "back up company", would you accept a full time offer from them?

Sonic One makes a good point.

mssales, what other companies were you looking into if i may ask?

Would I accept a full time offer from Kraft, that depends on what my other options are. If I had to choose between Kraft and Goldman Sachs of course I'd choose Goldman. This is without having test the company of course. Kraft is by no means a horrible company, and from ascertained information a viable option.

TheFireballKid, right now I'd like to intern with an investment bank, those options are of course limited. Inroads Chicago does however work with Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, R.W Baird, JP Morgan. Right now the most promising is R.W Baird(potential interview).

Talking of INROADS, I had my phone-interview with an INROADS representative a few weeks ago..and she invited me to come to a mock-interview..(the date which has not been finalized)...
Should I stick with Inroads..even though I plan to go in biomed research..and INROADS doesn't offer as many opportunities in that area..or should I retract my application or sth>??

what are questions asked in the phone interview??

I got a ding letter form Kraft. I'm not totally stressing out about it, as I have a Baird interview and I get a another chance to with a sponsor company after that, but I'm extremely suprised that I wasn't selected, from what I inferred from the interviewer. I don't know what happeded. Here is the letter.

Thank you for meeting with Kraft Foods during the December Inroads Career

Fair. Our Recruiting Team certainly enjoyed sharing career information with you and learning more about your background and interests.

As you know, competition is extremely high for a limited number of internship positions. While we were very impressed with your qualifications, we are unable to offer you a summer internship at this time.

Thank you once again for your interest in Kraft!

Sincerely,

Allyson Briney Sr. HR Coordinator, Global Finance

What do you guys think happended?

hmm thats strange. and you said the interview went well?

yea, but, I guess It just wasn't meant to be, maybe that opens the door for Baird, I don't know, I'm kind of down right now.

Mssales,

Don't worry. It probably wasn't a strong fit for you anyways since Kraft isn't where your heart lies. I'm sure you'll find an opportunity that is more in line with your career goals.

Sonic, I had a I guess what could be considered a phone interview with the head HR from Baird to discuss opps. basically said that they were looking for rising seniors for their ibanking/equity research internships, but that they were going to have some PWM interns. Said I was defintely at the top of her list and set a tentative target to view the facilities, and interview over spring break. Said basic job descriptions would be typical Inroads 2 summers, but would have the options of trying for something else the second summer. Said she showed my resume to one of the MD's(Inroads Alum) said I had a good resume etc..etc. PWM would be kind of like the PWM analyst at the bulge bracket from how she described it.

i would say its a great opportunity. Don't be discouraged mssales, better opportunities WILL arise such as this PWM internship. I have been notified as a strong candidate for the investment management side rather than the ibanking side; honestly though, I think its still a great opportunity and a great experience.

take what you can and take advantage of it.
