Inroads

Well, Is anyone doing Inroads this year? I got an interview for next week with one of the Inroads reps for Inroads Chicago. They will be doing talent pool training online this year. I completed got an email back saying I was a strong candidate for an internship. So I go for the initial interview next week.

Yeah I'm trying to do the INROADS thing, I only finished half-way online but I can't find the damn link to get back to doing the online training!

does the internship start in the summer or does it start earliar?

Inroads is a two summer internship program for minority students. They work namely with top companies like the Big 4, Fortune 500, and various other companies. www.inroads.org

The online email link should be in your initial email. If you can't find it, I'll post it later, I'm at work now.

I had my canidate assesment today with Inroads went fairly well, I was identified as a stronger applicant. She's try to match me probably with Kraft. Thats the thing with Inroads I guess, they match you with companies who they want to place you with. So I guess I won't be matched with investment banks. Still Kraft is a strong company and would be a good resume builder.

Is that the personal interview or the thing that you turn in after the Talent pool training (questions that you answer)?

mssales,

Are you saying that if you took the Kraft position, you would probably leave Kraft after a while and move on to another company?

It was an in-person interview at the office with the client manager. I'm pretty set to go out on interviews now. Sonic One, thats my first inclination of course there is always the possibility that I could take the Kraft position and love it, and stay there, though I have different long term aspiration.

Why do you know something I don't?

i have an interview with inroads tomorrow. however, its over the phone. any tips?

if inroads in a summer internship, then why are you guys doing the process now? wont you have to wait until summer then?

TheFireBallKid, basically, you need to be prepared to elborate, on your experiences. They want details, and not "empty claims". basically just be articulate, and cordial, and descriptive and you'll be fine.

thanks for the response
