[insert catchy title here]

Harvard, Duke, Emory, Chicago(EA), Wharton, BU

School info: VERY RIGOROUS (most faculty members have doctorates/ school is on newsweek's public elite with Thomas Jefferson, Stuyvesant, etc.) . Classes taught at college level- most with college grading (i.e. bell curves)

bumppppppp

Its sad when we start seeing a CR 690 as low, and a 3.78 UW GPA as weak, but you right to be so harsh on yourself with your lineup.

IMHO - BU, Wharton and Duke will all be good news; Harvard - who knows what a place that turns away 2400s and HS Vals wants; Chicago - close call, but I'd take you. I know nothing of Emory.

Overall pretty impressive stuff. Good luck!

anyone?????

No, Yes, Yes, Yes, No, Yes respectively

You really think I'm in at at Duke? Wow, my counselor told me that'd be a reach

1490 and a 3.8 coming out of a prestigious boarding school? I don't see why not. You'll be pleasantly surprised when your letters come. People are so used to seeing the threads on College Confidential that they forget about all the kids at their own schools who have amazed them by getting into schools that seemed to be out of their range.

Duke also loves people who demonstrate significant involvement in a given area.

Can anyone chance me for NW's mathematical methods in the social sciences program?

bump bump bump happy thanksgiving

what's your degree level, anyway?

your counselor's being rough b/c he/she doesn't want to set you up for failure.
while you aren't a definite innie, your state level wins and you demonstration of effort give you somewhat competitive chances. duke is more of a low/mid reach, i think.

best of luck ;-)

inconspicuous , I never really did that degree stuff. hmm.... It'd be hard for me to describe what level I am. I'm good, but far from great though.

Do I stand a chance at Stanford? My school is in South Carolina, so does being from a severely underrepresented state(for Stanford) boost my chances?
