looking for chances at Yale, Brown, UVA, UNC, Duke, WashU, and Cornell
i have legacy at UVA and Cornell and a cousin went to WashU if that makes a difference
also, i'm from Virginia

It might help a little if I knew your ethnicity. It’s not crucial, but is a factor. Your ACT score is solid, but do you know your SAT II scores? If not, you better take them now, and fast. The sports help diversify your application, but it would be better if there was more focus i.e. what do you like to do and/or want to do. If your school doesn’t rank, see if there’s a way they can report which percentile you’re in. Overall, Yale, Brown, Duke and Cornell are reaches as always. Wash U and UVA are match-high match. UNC shouldn’t be too hard.

I am a white female. Forgot to put down my SAT IIs: 770 Math 2 700 Physics 690 USH
I’m going to take the German SAT II in November and I’ll most likely get a 750+ so I’ll probably just end up reporting the math and German scores. I’m definitely in the top 5% of my class. Anyways, thank you for chancing!

Also, I went on an exchange program to Germany this summer for almost a month. I’m probably going to write about it in one of my essays so hopefully that will show passion although I don’t really want to continue studying the language in college. I’m applying as a math major so that could be interesting coming from a white girl.

Your ACT is great, you don’t have to send your SAT anywhere if you don’t want to.
Yale=mid-high reach
Brown=low-mid reach
UVA=safety (in-state and legacy)
UNC=match(solid essays and your in)
Duke=low-mid reach
WashU=???
Cornell=high match (legacy w/ solid essay=in)

Thanks for the chances. I’m only worried about my ACT because of my essay score. I hate my CR SAT score but I hate my ACT essay score, too. That’s why I was going to send both to show that I still had a high score on my SAT essay and reading ACT. Anyone else?

All right. So you are neither a true ORM or URM. That being said, not too much changes, and I concur with theRADtomato. Now write some good essays.

Thanks for the response. Anyone else???
