Let's try to compile a list of important SAT words. It really helped me study for the PSAT today.

I'll start:

gregarious+loquacious = talkative
obstinate + obdurate = stubborn
innocuous = harmless

Another pointless thread !
What do you mean by ''important'' words .Every word in the language is important somehow.

lackadaisical - lack of spirit, strength

monetary + pecuniary - financial

cantankerous - grumpy

gregarious doesn't mean talkative.

actually, this thread isn't pointless
before I took the PSAT yesterday I read the vocab threads on CC and found 3 vocab words that were CORRECT answers on the PSAT

the words were:
scourges...innocuous
anathema
gerrymander
chicanery (in a reading question)

Indirect hit (a word that I learned but was not a correct answer):
denizen

yeah lmao gregarious means friendly, not talkative.

sorry I was being an idiot--I meant garrulous, not gregarious:

Here's our list so far--let's try to get a bunch before the Nov SAT:
garrulous+loquacious = talkative
gregaroius- sociable, friendly
obstinate + obdurate = stubborn
innocuous = harmless
lackadaisical - lack of spirit, strength
monetary + pecuniary - financial
cantankerous - grumpy
