[insert personalized reason to chance me here]

Oh hai, I didn't see you there
Hopefully you came up with some mindblowing, universe shattering reason to open this thread [or maybe just to tell me I'm incredibly tacky and should go crawl into a hole]
EITHER WAY, SINCE YOU ARE HERE...

I'll give you a cupcake and a bluetooth-internet hug if you take a second to chance me

I'm currently a senior in the only international school in my city. I live in Surabaya, Indonesia [the boring of the boring] and go to an American school with an AP based curriculum.

Honestly, one of the best schools anyone has gotten into from my school was Berkeley, and that was my sister. So here I am spazzing out about my chances.

PS: You're not the only one that will think I applied to a ridiculous number of schools. My mom literally thought I was going insane. I just started applying to so many reaches that I compensated by applying to safeties and matches. Sigh.

*Colleges *

UPenn
UCSD
UC Irvine
LMU
MIT

Johns Hopkins
UBC
Boston U

[I've already been accepted in UBC/LMU]

Background: Female Asian [how bad is this affirmative action situation going to hurt me], don't need financial aid though I'd love to get a merit scholarship so my papa can retire and my parents and little bro can get out of this country and move to America with my sister and I.

GPA : 4.33 [I want to say weighted?] I sucked as a freshman and it dropped my cumulative GPA down a lot.

*Teacher Recs *: My econ/history teachers was fantabulous, the rest were pretty good.

*Essays *- tried to make them all as quirky and original as possible. EG - my Common App was about my hair, UPenn was me accidentally calling B.Franklin and having a conversation, MIT was sipping milkshakes with Bernake and the founder of the school, Columbia was how my life lined up with the plot of Cabin in the Woods, etc etc

I would love you if you could stop me from dying in anticipation. I know it's a crapshoot and totally unpredictable when it comes to HYPS but any estimation would be awesome!

BU: Safety

I chanced you for every other school on your list other than UBC…

this is me shamelessly bumping this thread
