Granted, these are definitely catering towards more selective admissions, but that was what I was looking for, and I really enjoyed them :)

And also, The Overachievers by Alexandra Robbins is a good book detailing the high school drama/college selection process of kids with high expectations. Really liked it :)

What You Don’t Know Can Keep You Out of College: A Top Consultant Explains the 13 Fatal Application Mistakes and Why Character Is the Key to College Admissions by Don Dunbar and G.F. Lichtenberg.

Another book I enjoyed is The Price of Admission by Daniel Golden, which exposes the socioeconomic inequities in college admissions.

A recent book by a well regarded guidance counselor:

Admission Matters by Jon Reider

Thanks! These books seem great! Does anyone else want to add more books?
