Instate Acceptance?

I've heard that Dartmouth is quite opposed to accepting instate applicants, is this true?

I believe they accept about 4% instate.... I'm a proud Granite stater who was deferred... and I'm not expecting an acceptance in the coming days...

Is it bad that I'm telling myself that if I was from California, or somewhere else wicked far away, i would have gotten in??? :)

I know many people at Dartmouth who are from NH. I don't think they're opposed to accepting instate people at all; I just think that they recognize that only a small fraction of each class can/should be from NH.

Considering NH is only ~.44% of the U.S.'s population, looks like all things being equal you have an advantage by an order of magnitude. Everyone move to New Hampshire!

(disclaimer: twisted, sarcastic logic)
