hi guys,

I think its 2 years.

It takes one year. I know this because for Berkeley out of state admits, they only pay out of state tuition for one year, then in-state for then next two. However, establishing how long you've been in-state may be a different procedure if you aren't enrolled in an institution.

ok, thanks for the replies.

Remember, becoming an in-state resident in CA requires working full-time. You cannot obtain residency by being only a student.
