Instate tuition w/ grandparent

Hi,
I am starting at OU in the falls as an out of state student. I accept that at least for the first year that I will have to pay the out of state tuition rate, however, I am looking to see if it would be possible to get in-state tuition for year two.

My parents cannot afford to put me through college, so my grandparents will be paying the cost of my tuition. They live in Ohio. Is there any way under OU policy/ Ohio law for me to receive in-state tuition for my second year. I have lived with them in Ohio for the summer, and if anyone thinks there is a chance, I would get an Ohio drivers license.

I don’t mean to seem whiny, it’s just that I don’t think it’s fair to pay out of state tuition when the person who is paying for my education lives in state.

Any help/insight is much appreciated. Thanks!

Not likely. http://codes.ohio.gov/oac/3333-1-10

Isn’t this something u shd have sorted out before clicking the ACCEPT button?

Nope.

Not unless you move your permanent residency to Ohio and become emancipated from your parents.

The OP hasn’t been on the website since the day the post went up, July 27. I am closing the thread.
