Instate v. Out of state?!

I'm an Arizona resident choosin between Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles or University of Arizona in Tucson. I have a scholarship to UofA where tuition would be around 13k a year and I have a scholarship to LMU where tuition would be around 54k per year. Obviously that is a big difference although my dad says he can make it work. I'm just unsure whether I should save money now so I can ensure my parents can afford grad school or if the experiences I will face in LA be worth the money. Most of my family thinks I'd be dumb to not go for it and go to LMU, but I just want to make sure I'm choosing the best decision! Please help with any advice or tips! Thanks!

Additional 41k a year is a lot of money. Where would your parents get this from? or did they have this 200 plus k saved for you for your college? If that is the case then go for it, but if you know your parents situation and would rather not have them spent that much, then Tucson is the way to go.
Tucson is actually a great place to be. Study hard, make good grades, volunteer, do research and maybe par-time on campus job, along with a good Graduate exams scores. With that, you will be able to attend a great graduate school.
Best of luck to you.

You are very smart to pause. That is a huge difference in cost and I can’t see that it is worth it. LMU is nice but not worth the 4x premium unless the money really means nothing to your Dad. It is a gift to have parent funds available for grad school is a huge bonus for you. Use a bit of money for a nice study abroad, or try to look into a visiting student situation in LA for a semester if you want that experience. Move to LA after you graduate if that’s where you want to be.
