Would living instate give you an advantage or a disadvantage?

Go ask your “sister”, the one who was curious about which Harvard freshman dorm was the “best”. She’ll tell you NO

Thx for the reply with no sarcasm at all. It was appreciated @T26E4

T26E4,

Here’s a quote from another thread from 2009:

“The opposite is true, at least for Harvard. They are open about the fact that they give some admissions preference to people from Cambridge [inflated admission rate from Rindge & Latin school down the street], Boston [inflated admission rate from Boston Latin school and other public schools in Boston], and New England, in that order. They specifically state that they view themselves very much as a New England institution in addition to being (first and foremost) a national university, and are interested in training leaders for the surrounding area as well as the nation.”

I can’t find it right now, but I’ve read more recently Dean Fitzsimmons say something similar, that there is a slight preference for local and Massachusetts students.

Thx I’m from ny tho :(
