Instead of Emory, I decided to go to...

For those guys that turned down Emory, where are you headed to instead?

Presbyterian College or Wake Forest (I'm sending in a deposit to both places, I need to visit Wake again)...Emory just did not give me enough finanical aid, I want to go to law school and can't afford it if I go into a hundred thousand dollars of debt for undergrad

Emory was actually in the top spot...

However, I'm from a lower-side income family; Duke happened to be a bit more generous with the financial aid.
Nonetheless, I'm pretty freakin' excited about going there :D

GW!!! They gave me great financial aid and Emory didn't...and they were pretty rude about it too!

Eh, GW has no campus. Nice city though... (I am from the DC area).

speak for yourself, in my opinion GW has a campus. it's very compact, not spread out like some other urban schools...i don't need tulips and grass to make me feel like i'm on a campus

GW as well for the same reason as nycsenorita and i'm getting excited about it!!

When I express an opinion, I AM speaking for myself. I didn't say that everybody thinks that, I just said that I do.

yeah, but did nycsenorita ask your opinion? alot of us have been making difficult decisions and its really unhelpful to have random ppl put down the school we finally picked, esp if it was a really hard decision.

collegebound, that's something you're just going to have to live with

if you can't take criticizm from someone you've never met before (and probably never are going to) anonymously, I don't think you're ready for college

plus, these "put downs" honestly shouldn't matter because if you made this "hard decision," I'd assume that you researched these colleges that you were debating between and probably already encountered this negative aspect about the college you chose...the better thing for you to have done (IMO..IN MY OPINION) would have been to simply explain that you like smaller campuses rather than getting angry at someone who has a differing opinion from yours

Haha I wasn't actually trying to insult GWU, just thought I had to say something because you didn't choose my school! Its a simple pride thing. :)

Ahh I remember the days when I was in high school and took this board so seriously. Once you get to college you will realize that there is so much more to life than what people on a website say. It was definitely a helpful resource to have at the time though.
