I'm gonna be a sophomore transfer student at Cornell (humec, HBHS major, premed) this fall, and I just received my AP credit evaluation. I expected that with my 4 in the Bio exam, that I will be granted 4 credits of either intro biology - BIO G 101,103 or BIo G 102,104 (both lecture and lab combination)..like other incoming students - as stated in the Biology/Nutritional Sciences/pre-med website. I planned to accept 4 credits, and just BIo G 102, 204, since I feel that I am comfortable in my knowledge of bio to be exempt from one semester.

However, I got a reply back and saw i DIDNT get 4 credits for regular intro bio! ..that they gave credit instead for BIO G 109-110. I researched about this, and read that this is what Cornell gives credit for with a 6 in the IB exam (don't even know what that is)! Its sequenced for non-bio and non-premed students. It's a combination that I wouldn't even think of taking, and I don't know if I've been granted inappropriately/insufficientely of credit or if they're just mean to transfer students. Is this normal, or should I request of a re-evaluation? If Cornell is not going to give me 4 credits for regular intro bio, will medical schools still see the BIO G 109, 110 as appropriate intro biology credit? Will I still have to do one year of regular bio 102,104/101,103?

Thanks, I appreciate any help I can get because this is getting me very nervous haha
