Does anyone know if Tulane offers some kind of insurance on electronics? I went through all the things they sent me and can't find anything. My D (who goes to a college in NY) gets something annually from a private insurance company for insurance on her laptop, cell phone, i-pod, etc. With a $100 deductible, this insurance only costs her $70 per year. Is there something like this for students at Tulane? My D's is good for loss, theft, & damage. Thanks.

I’ve used CSI for my son (and just got it for my daughter who’s an entering freshman at another school). I believe they offer personal property insurance for college students nationwide. The cost was very reasonable (<100) and covered his laptop, guitar, ipod, etc. They even offer a free tracking program for your laptop – and if it gets stolen and you’ve downloaded it, they waive the deductible. My son had a VERY expensive computer repair (almost 1400) after he spilled liquid on it last year, and the companay paid the claim (minus his $50 deductible) promptly.

Thank you, Mom0f3. Your information was very helpful. I have just purchased this insurance for my S. One more thing off my list.
